就业报告:

一旦你的毕业后OPT获得批准, you will receive an email from the Student and Exchange 访问or Program (SEVP) to complete your OPT reporting requirements. SEVP will contact you directly via the email listed in your SEVIS record. 电子邮件将来自不回复.sevp@ice.国土安全部.gov and will have instructions regarding the SEVP Portal account creation process.

On OPT you are allowed to accrue a total of only 90 days of un就业. 为了防止失业日数的累积, 你一定是在一个有报酬的, 无薪, internship or volunteer position for more than 20 hours per week. It is fine to have multiple positions at one time and throughout your OPT, but all 就业 must be related to your field of study.

OPT authorizes 就业/practical training that is 与你的主修领域相关的 并且与你的教育水平相称. If you work in a job un与你的主修领域相关的, you are in violation of your F-1 status. Immigration and Customs Enforcement can terminate a student's F-1 SEVIS record if a student works in a position unrelated to their studies. A terminated SEVIS record cancels OPT authorization and invalidates your F-1 status in the U.S.

你应该每周至少工作20小时. Regardless of your job title or how the position is classified, such as an "intern," "temp," etc.，可选择以下工作:

• 多个雇主: you may work for more than one employer, but all 就业 must be related to your degree program.
• 短期多雇主(演艺人员): musicians and other performing artists may work for multiple short-term employers (gigs). 列出职位、日期和持续时间.
• 受雇工作: This is also commonly referred to as 1099 就业, where an individual performs a service based on a contractual relationship rather than an 就业 relationship. 如果国土安全部要求的话, the student must be prepared to provide evidence showing the duration of the contract period and the name and address of the contracting company.
• 自主创业: you may start a business and be self-employed in your field of study. You must have a business license and document your active engagement in business related to your degree.
• 通过中介机构或咨询公司雇佣: you must be able to provide evidence showing you worked at least 20 hours per week while employed by the agency.
• 有偿就业: you may work part time (at least 20 hours per week on post-completion OPT) or full time.
• 无薪工作: you may work as a volunteer or 无薪 intern, where this practice does not violate any labor laws. 每周至少工作20小时. You must be able to provide evidence acquired from your employer to verify that you worked at least 20 hours per week during the period of 就业.

旅行和opt:

完成后OPT正在等待中

If your post-completion OPT has not been approved yet (就业 Authorization Document [EAD] card still not yet issued by USCIS), 你既没有工作也没有工作邀请, 你可以离开，然后再进入美国.S. 继续找工作. In order to have the best chance of re-entering the U.S. without problems when your post-completion OPT is pending, 你应确保携带下列文件:

• Passport (valid for six months after you plan to re-enter the U.S.)

• I-20 (with a travel signature no older than six months*)
• OPT申请收据

If you need to apply for a new F-1 visa when your post-completion OPT application is pending, you should also be sure to have your I-765 receipt notice (Form I-797) in addition to the usual documents required for a visa application.

If your post-completion OPT has been approved (EAD card has been issued by USCIS), 你可以旅行并重新进入美国.S. 除非你有工作证明. If you are still looking for 就业/practical training opportunities, 你不应该出国旅行. 旅行时，请携带以下文件:

就业证明:

When traveling on OPT is is required to have a letter from your employer to show that you are utilizing your OPT benefit and are not accruing excess days of un就业. You can also get a letter from your supervisor when you are taking part in an 无薪 internship or volunteer position to keep for your records. If questioned about your 就业 at a visa interview or another situation, you will have this letter to show you were maintaining your status, even though you do not have a history of payment for the 就业. This letter will differ depending on your work situation, but it should include as much of the following as possible:

• Be on company letterhead with company name and address
• Contain a brief description of job duties (related to field of study)
• State the dates of 就业 or at least a start date
• 确认你正在工作的小时数
• 如果你在旅行, the letter should confirm that you will continue your 就业 when you return
• 这封信应该由你的导师签名
